Please note that this information is preliminary and subject to change while we are planning our event setup.
Last updated: September 5th, 2021
Only vaccinated, previously infected, or negatively tested people with a valid certificate or proof of vaccination will be granted entry at HackZurich 2021. As per the Swiss Federal Council, certificates are valid for visitors above the age of 16, and not required for those younger. Along with their certificate, each attendee has to present a valid official ID (identification card, passport, etc.) at the entrance. No data will be stored when checking the validity of certificates. More information about the covid certificate can be found here.
Validity of Covid Certificates
(Last updated: 20.09.2021)
Certificates compliant with the federal ordinance on covid certificates (more information) are generally admissible. For countries that do not issue such a certificate, official proofs of vaccination are admitted depending on the vaccine administered.
For vaccinated people
The certificate is valid for 365 days, starting from the date of the second vaccine dose. Participants who got vaccinated in Switzerland or the EU need to show the Swiss Covid19 certificate or EU Green Pass. If you got vaccinated outside Switzerland / EU, we accept official proofs of vaccination (e.g. WHO certificates) from the following vaccines:
Comirnaty® / BNT162b2 / Tozinameran (Pfizer/BioNTech)
Spikevax® / mRNA-1273 / COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna)
Vaxzevria® / AZD1222 / Covishield™ (AstraZeneca)
COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine (Vero Cell) (Sinopharm / BIBP)
For previously infected people
The certificate is valid for 180 days, starting from the 11th day after a positive PCR test result. Participants outside Switzerland / EU can proof recovery with the following information:
Name of test centre / institution where the test has been done
Date and time of sample taken (not older than 180 days)
Type of test (only PCR tests are valid)
For negatively tested people
For PCR-tests, the certificate is valid for 72 hours, starting from the time at which the sample was taken. For authorized rapid antigen tests, the certificate is valid for 48 hours, starting from the time at which the sample was taken.
We will only admit attendees with a certified negative test result that is valid until Sunday, September 26th, 4pm CEST. You have the opportunity to book a slot for a rapid antigen test at Apodoc Hardbrücke (3 minutes by foot from Technopark) for Friday, Sep 24, between 4 and 6.30 pm here. The test is for free, if you bring along your Swiss health insurance card. If you do not have any, you have to pay 50 Swiss francs for the test.
Important: No certificates are issued for self test kits or antibody tests.
The exact details of the protection concept are defined on the basis of the regulation issued by the federal office of public health and the cantonal authorities. More information regarding the protective measures during the HackZurich 2021 can be found here.
We follow all Swiss public health regulations and are committed to making HackZurich a safe event for all attendees. Please note that we are not able to provide refunds for incurred travel costs in case attendance is not possible due to changing travel restrictions, a positive test, or in the unforeseen case that we have to cancel the event.
We are looking forward to meeting you at our event!
