  • What are HackZurich & Digital Festival about?

    HackZurich was founded in 2014 and is the most renowned technological hackathon in the world. The brightest international minds, whether students or professionals, come together in Zurich to develop innovative prototypes in a 48 hour event and master current challenges.

    The Digital Festival offers an established and popular meeting spot for decision-makers and experts in the field of digital innovation in Zurich – Switzerland's innovation hotspot.

  • When and where do the events take place?

    Digital Festival & HackZurich take place at Halle 550 in Zurich, Switzerland, from Friday, September 13 to Sunday, September 15, 2024.

    However, we're recruiting volunteers to support us in setting up and dismantling the venue on Wednesday, September 11, Thursday, September 12, and Monday, September 18.

  • What are the workloads for volunteer roles & tasks?

    If you apply for volunteer roles, we expect you to be available for at least 2 of 5 days. The shifts vary between tasks, usually one shift lasts 8 hours. You can mark your availability when applying.

  • Is there an age limit to volunteering?

    Yes, we don’t recruit under 18-year-olds to be volunteers.

  • Can travel and accommodation costs be reimbursed?
    + -

    We cover travel expenses within Switzerland (public transport only, 2nd class) for your shifts. After the event, you'll be asked to send receipts and bank account details for reimbursement. Accommodation costs are not covered.

    However, volunteers can join the sleeping spaces offered for Hack participants (female, male and mixed rooms available). Sleeping bag and mat are not provided and must be brought by volunteers.
